These sculptural pieces belong to two groups. The “facebowl” series is an original invention framing a sculpture in a wheel-thrown pot. The “Tinagtago” series is based on the traditional Tinagtago carvings, known as “Bulol” in Ifugao. They are guardian pieces, traditionally carved from wood, that ward off evil spirits, often placed in a granary or a room where a child sleeps.
